See For Yourself…
Randi lives for a good pun, a great hug, and a glass of whatever you’re having.
She has five grandkids, countless chickens, and has been with her high school sweetheart, Scott, for nearly 45 years.
She’s also visually impaired.
“It’s like the curtain closed and the show was over.”
A retinal detachment is a complex situation and to varying degrees can be corrected. For Randi, who had both retinas detach within 6 months of each other in 2008, the condition has left her legally blind.
The things she can see for herself are limited, and the way she sees them is forever altered.
There’s more to believing than just seeing.
In 2015, she picked up a paintbrush, and much to the astonishment of her friends and family, started turning out amazing artwork.
She found guidance in YouTube tutorials and discovered her unique view in painting, which sometimes involves a magnifying glass and getting so close to her work, the paint ends up on her nose.
In 2018, her faithful friend Dharma joined her through the Guide Dog Foundation. The two are up for any adventure, particularly when Dharma can play in the snow or Randi can be by the ocean.
Randi and her family live in Brentwood, NH and in 2019 she did her first show at the local library to rave reviews.
